The white palm or “caranday” grows 14 metres height and has green leafs.
Fauna
“Cotorras” and other birds use white palm to make their nests. “Carpinteros cabeza rojiza” and “loros ñenday” make their nests in trees holes. These palms are used as refuge for bats, like the “moloso cola larga grande”.

The “quebracho Colorado chaqueño”, "lapacho" and "urunday" mount, and Pilcomayo River rainforests are the habitat of three types of monkeys: “cai”, “caraya” and “mirikina”. The last one is middle size and has big eyes that are adapted to the nightlife. Other mammals of these forests are the “oso melero”, which eats wasps and termites from the trees, and “coaties” that usually makes night group walks. Also there are many birds like “surucua comun”, “trepador castaño”, “choca listada” and carpenter bird, the most representative bird of the Park.
In marsh, gully and little lakes concentrate large quantities of aquatic birds like three types of stork: american, “tuyuyu” and “yaribu”, which has a beautiful red and black neck that contrasts with its white plumage. Is common to see “garzas” in riverside of not too deep waters looking for fishes, reptiles and frogs to eat.
Laguna Blanca is the biggest water body of the Park, with an 800 hectares surface. There lives two types of caiman: “overo” and “negro”, both in danger of extinction. Also can be found different ophidian like “boa curiyu” and aquatic snakes like “ñacanina”. In these coasts develop large “pehuaiozales” and “pirizales” where “carpinchos”, “coipos” and nutres can be saw.
